Irukandji jellyfish

The Irukandji jellyfish is a type of box jellyfish that floats around the coast of Northern Australia and is one of the most venomous types of jellyfish in the world. To make it even worse, they are also one of the smallest types of jellyfish with a size of just one cubic centimeter, making them very hard to spot in the ocean.

If you’re unlucky enough to get stung by the Irukandji jellyfish, the venom is strong enough to cause deadly brain hemorrhages. Nearly 100 people are admitted to the hospital every year after going through this ordeal.
